Insurance limits the amount of time I can spend with you to 45 minutes. If you don't see a time slot you need, please check back from time to time,  a spot is likely to open up.

You can choose to pay privately, use your in-network benefits with  Blue Cross Blue Shield, or check with any other insurer about out-of network benefits if you have them.  

Payment is due at the time of the session. I take cash, checks, or, payment cards (when you key in that information when you register to become a client). Making an appointment is an obligation to attend. Not showing up will result in your being charged a minimum of $90. Not showing up deprives another person of the slot and me of income. 

HOW decide what's right for you

Insurers will not pay for purely sexual or couples' issues in the absence of another diagnosis. In my experience, most relationship or sexual issues don't need a long time to resolve. Sexual issues lend themselves very well to short term therapy (1-6 sessions). Couples issues, as well do not need to require many sessions if you are willing to try and do new things between sessions and focus on making improvements. I assume you want to succeed and provide you with experiments to try and  tools to support your success. It may be worth your while to pay privately and use your session time wisely.

You should know that using your mental health benefits requires you to have a diagnosis and will create a written record of your visit.  Insurance companies are increasing the amount of scrutiny they subject psychotherapy to: reviewing patient records, denying claims. The only way to completely protect  your privacy is to not use insurance. I spell this out so you can be aware of your options and choose what works best for you and your situation. What ever that is, I encourage you to do what's right for you, and respect your decision.

- standard 45 minute sessions : $200

- first sessions  $250

I charge at least $90  for missed appointments (including first appointments) and same day cancellations.




The company that covers your medical benefits may well not cover mental health benefits. So, please  call the number on the back of your card.  Please be sure to use this form to find out who covers your mental health benefits, and how your policy works.  I can't do it for you. I want you to have a the best possible  experience in therapy with no surprises, like having to switch to to another provider because you didn't check ahead of time.  I will hold you responsible for any fees your insurance company does not cover. 

Many therapists no longer accept insurance because it of the difficulties and limitations involved. I still accept some insurance as a courtesy to my clients and because I believe people should be able to use their benefits. You doing your part by checking your benefits helps me continue to offer this service. 


I accept  Blue Cross Blue Shield.  Please confirm with your insurer that your mental health benefits are covered by them; or, if it's another company, how your policy with them works. I can bill Aetna and BCBS directly. I ask that you pay me your copayment, coinsurance and /or fee that applies to your deductible each time you come in. Your insurer (not me) sets the fee you pay. 


I publish my fees so you can figure out ahead of time how your arrangement with your insurer works.  In some cases I can bill your insurance directly. I am also happy to provide the receipt you need to be reimbursed.

While your out-of-network insurer might attempt to reimburse at a rate other than my full fee,  I expect to be paid my full feeThat means you will be responsible to pay whatever your insurer doesn't.  


If you want to use EAP benefits, please acquire an authorization number and date before coming in and make your appointment.
